
The Cynopsis Awards were held recently to honor members of the broadcast media industry for their work in a range of different areas within the media and telecommunications world. Sinclair Broadcasting Group was among the major winners highlighted at the awards for its media professionals and regional sports networks that took home numerous honors.
Another major highlight of the evening was the many top Sinclair Broadcast Group professionals who took home winning prizes in the Cynopsis Top Women in Media Awards category. Sinclair is proud to have such a strong core of smart and award-winning female journalists bringing their multitudes of skills and talents to the Sinclair news desk every day of the week.
Sinclair Promotes the Careers of Women
The Cynopsis Awards represent a major shift in the media industry to promote diversity in terms of race and gender equality. A major thrust of the Cynopsis Awards is to honor the media broadcast companies that have taken the pioneering steps to not only promote the idea of diversity within their ranks but to put those ideas into action.
Among the Sinclair female broadcasters who were honored at the Cynopsis Awards were the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Lucy Rutishauser. Rutishauser’s work for the major media conglomerate shows Sinclair Broadcast Company cares about diversity as she was honored in the area of executing strategy with her success as an operations front runner cited as the reason for winning the award.
Sinclair sees more Female Broadcaster Take Home Honors
Lucy Rutishauser was not the only female executive honored at the Cynopsis Awards with the CFO joined by two more women in executive positions at Sinclair. The regional sports network executive, Lindsay Amstutz, and The Tennis Channel’s Shelby Coleman both took home honors from the awards show for their work with Sinclair and its affiliates.
Shelby Coleman took home an Industry Leaders Award for her work with The Tennis Channel that has been impressive in her role as the Head of Creative Production. Lindsay Amstutz also received an award for her various roles within the Sinclair Broadcast Group. Amstutz main professional focus has been on the sports industry in the Southwest and, in particular, the city of San Diego. In her roles at Fox Sports, Amstutz has been working as the General Manager and Senior Vice President of the Fox Sports San Diego and San Diego Prime Ticket brands.
Sinclair Leader Chris Ripley Honored with a Host of Different Awards
The President and COE of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, Chris Ripley, who started his company was honored to have taken home so many awards in a range of categories. Among the awards given to the networks of Sinclair Broadcasting was the Best Marketing Campaign, which was awarded to the Fox Sports South brand. The live coverage of sporting events by the Fox Sports West brand was honored, along with the Best Seasonal Coverage being provided to Fox Sports South.
In total, the regional sports networks of the Sinclair Broadcast Group took home seven awards for their work. Chris Ripley went on to explain his media corporation had been focused on providing the best in news coverage and providing the best sports coverage to its regional communities. The Sinclair Broadcasting Group CEO would later explain the success that had already been achieved would be continued with a dedicated push to provide even more support to individuals and networks around the U.S. by the group
